This module aims to develop a critical understanding of the use of injections in the management of joint and soft tissue pathology and to develop professional responsibility towards injection practice.
MODULE LEARNING OUTCOMES/OBJECTIVES
The student should be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacology related to joint and soft tissue injections
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of safe practice for joint and soft tissue injection
- Demonstrate an understanding of the evidence related to this mode of management
- Understand the professional issues related to the practice of injection therapy
MODULE SESSION DATES
2 - 4th September 2020 and 4th November 2020
To develop a critical understanding of the use of injections in the management of joint and soft tissue pathology and to develop professional responsibility towards injection practice.
Applicants will need to complete and return the following:
1) Managers Letter of Support (the template MUST be used)
2) Mentors Injection Letter Template (the template MUST be used)
(once the Injection Mentor Pack has been read)
3) Completed application form (see above Apply button)
4) Proof of qualifications
5) One academic reference using the Reference Form (the template MUST be used)
(please note that the application form asks for two references
but only one is required)
6) Proof of up to date registration with the relevant practitioners registration body
(such as HCPC, GMC, NMC)
7) Proof of up to date personal indemnity insurance
(such as CSP, RCN, GMC)
For the CSP you will need to ring the CSP on 020 7306 6666 and they will confirm current membership via email which you can then include as an attachment with the application.
For OT's written confirmation from the employing NHS Trust that they will accept vicarious liability during the applicant's training and subsequent practice is required.
Fees will be automatically charged to the applicant once they have started the course.

Our policy is to accept students on a 'first come first served basis'. Students will only be accepted onto this module once all the relevant paperwork is complete.
This module is not normally suitable for students on a full-time programme.
