Overview
A growing number of practitioners wish to advance their achievement of senior management roles specific to their sphere of practice. These roles may have a leadership, management or education focus, rather than a specific focus on the acquisition of advanced clinical skills and practice. It is anticipated that participants, whilst holding either clinical or non-clinical roles, will wish to develop the more generic skills of professional, managerial and leadership development in order to effectively lead and manage their teams.
This module will encourage practitioners to:
- Identify and critically analyse, through reflection, their skills, knowledge and abilities in relation to the enhancement of quality care/service delivery.
- Critically evaluate current and relevant research and present a critical understanding of current and innovative insights into skills acquisition relevant to their sphere of practice.
- Critically analyse a practical application of their acquired knowledge and skills within their work area, supported by a work-based facilitator.
- Demonstrate originality, criticality, clinical reasoning and evaluative reflection on personal learning within the student’s sphere of practice.
