Professor James Knowles
James Knowles is Professor of Medieval and Renaissance Literature and Head of the School of English at University College Cork in the Republic of Ireland. His research interests include early modern writing, especially drama and the masque. He has also taught widely in drama including modern and contemporary drama. Having made numerous important finds in archives and special collections, he has extensive knowledge of the practical and conceptual issues and challenges confronting archival researchers.
