Biography

I arrived at Keele University October 2016 after being at the University of Manchester for eight years (I previously worked at Keele University for eight years 2000 - 2008). My academic career initially began at Liverpool University (The School of Tropical Medicine) some years before where I worked on large scale epidemiological projects based in a number of different countries in Africa. My work at Manchester University has mainly been in managing complex multi-centre clinical trials, and more recently, working as a Complex Wounds Research Fellow in CLAHRC Greater Manchester.

I have worked as a researcher in a variety of different health care settings in the UK, for example ophthalmology, dentistry, oncology, traumatic brain injury/neuroscience, and complex wounds to name a few. I have worked in community and acute care settings and also in emergency/pre-hospital care. My research experience has embraced the disciplines of evaluation research (health services), epidemiology, public health research and clinical audit and I have acquired a range of skills in both quantitative and qualitative methods. I am now a member of the Research Design Service team at Keele University.
