Biography

Miliça joined the Arthritis Research UK Primary Care Centre in 2006 following the completion of her PhD in Statistics at Keele University's Mathematics Department. She joined the Research Institute as a Postdoctoral Researcher before she subsequently became a Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer in Statistics.

Research and scholarship

Miliça leads the statistical design and analysis on a range of studies including large population surveys, electronic health record data, clinical trials and meta analyses. In particular, Miliça's interests and expertise lie in methodologies (such as propensity scores and frailty modelling) for treatment-outcome research using electronic health recorders and other observational data and she leads the School of Medicine programme of work relating to this, building on the work funded by her award of the NIHR SPCR Fellowship in 2010. This fellowship focussed on modelling longitudinal observational data. Miliça has been been involved as a principal investigator and/or lead statistician in grant income that totals over £5 million.
