Helen Edwards
After qualifying from Nottingham School of Physiotherapy in 1992 I worked as a Rotational Physiotherapist at  the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. I went on to specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, and  worked for  seventeen years in this field at West Park Hospital, Wolverhampton.
Since 2005 I had a split post, working as both a Senior Physiotherapist in the outpatient department and an Extended Scope Practitioner in an Orthopaedic Clinical Assessment Service.
I have a special interest in the management of patients with long term pain and have attended many courses on cognitive- behavioural therapy and a bio-pyschosocial approach. I am  also a member of the McKenzie Institute UK with credentialed status.
During my time in Wolverhampton I was a clinical educator for Keele students and had the opportunity to be part of both the pilot ACE scheme  and Re-Accreditation.
Since leaving my NHS post in January 2014 I am delighted  to have become a member of  SHAR staff , where I am working with the clinical team in my role as Clinical Education Support Tutor.
