The Directorate of Finance is first and foremost a service department. The main sections of the directorate are:

  • Accounts Payable and Insurance Office - which deals with all payments to suppliers and insurance matters
  • Income Office - which deals with the administration and collection of student fees and other income
  • Management and Financial Accounting - which provides budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
  • Procurement Office - which offers value for money procurement support and best practice advice
  • Treasury Office - monitors the University's cash flow management  
  • Payroll and Pensions Office - *From 1st Feb 2021 can be found on the HR webpages following their transfer*
  • Post Award Research Accounting Team - *From 1st August 2021 can be found on the Research, Innovation and Engagement webpages following their transfer* Research project specific activity and the administration of externally funded grants is managed within the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Engagement. Finance are responsible for overall research accounting.
