Biography

Sophie completed her undergraduate Physiotherapy degree at Keele University in 2011, with first class honours. Following this, she completed her junior rotations at a local district general NHS trust. Whilst rotating across a variety of specialities Sophie discovered her love for Paediatric neurology and neuro rehab and specialised within this area working across both acute and community services at Sheffield Children's Hospital.

Whilst working, Sophie undertook her Masters in Neurological Rehabilitation at Keele University and graduated in 2022 with her dissertation project, "Exploration of the methods currently used in clinical practice to assess body alignment/symmetry in children with a neurodisability."

Sophie works part time within the neurology physiotherapy teaching team. The rest of her week is spent working as a Paediatric Neurological Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton where she specialises in the assessment and treatmemt of children with a wide variety of neurological conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. 

Sophie is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Association of Paediatric Charted Physiotherapists (APCP).
