The Magistracy in the 21st Century: A Seminar Series

Thank you for visiting this website. We hope that you will find everything you need here and enjoy contributing to our discussions about the future of the Magistracy.

Magistrates Association 3

The Magistrates Association and Keele University are working in partnership on a series of three seminars under the overall title of 'The magistracy in the 21st century'. This programme of events will help to develop policy for the second decade of the 21st century (2011-2021).

Magistrates who wish to be considered for a place at one of the seminars are asked to submit a short paper (500 words or less) on what they consider to be the main challenges and opportunities for the magistracy in the 21st century.

The seminars are for an audience of about 30-40 invited magistrates, representatives of the justice system, academics and of local authorities to explore new ways of dealing with crime and offending. In 2011 we have scheduled three seminars:

Keele University 10th May 2011
