Emrah Celik is a PhD candidate in Sociology at Keele University. Having had his Bachelor's Degree in Theology at Dokuz Eylul University (2002) in Izmir, he started to work as an editor for a publishing firm in Denmark. He did his Master's Degree at the University of Birmingham in Theology and Religion working on “The reform (Tajdid) in Islamic Thought."

Emrah is now studying on the tension in Turkey with regard to the conflict between religion and secularism.
