Student placements – information for students
Use the skills you have gained from your degree while improving your employability prospects.
Independent Market Research Company High Fliers estimate that 34% of graduates recruited by employers for their 2021 intake will have completed work experience with their organisations whilst at university, with many receiving – and accepting – job offers at their end of their work placements or internships (Source: High Fliers Research Ltd, 2021).
Keele University encourages students to participate in placements as part of their degree where possible. Completing a placement improves the skills and attributes gained from your degree and also improves your graduate employment prospects.
Benefits of a placement as part of your degree
- Helps to improve the skills and attributes gained from your degree
- Significantly improves your chances of getting a graduate job
- Enables you to apply subject knowledge theory to real-world practice
- Allows you to explore and test out career ideas
