Research and scholarship

My research and scholarship interests/ expertise are currently concerned with the intersections of education studies, youth studies and youth justice, youth work/ youth support, ethics, care, applied qualitative research methods and Social Network Analysis (SNA) [qualitative and participatory methods]. I have a growing research interest in loneliness and social isolation and ecologies of care.

I currently teach across the BA (Hons) Criminology and Combined Honours programme and MA Criminology and Criminal Justice. I supervise both undergraduate and post-graduate taught dissertations.

I was shortlisted for a University faculty-wide recognition award in 2020 at the University of Manchester, for my service and online teaching methods during the initial COVID-19 lockdown.
