Study design

This study incorporates a case-control study and a cohort study.

Primary objective

This study is aimed to derive and internally validate multivariable risk prediction models using routinely recorded information in medical records to estimate the 5- and 10-year risk of primary knee and hip replacement among patients aged 40 years and over presenting in general practice with osteoarthritis or hip pain or knee pain.
