Launch of National Cyber Awareness Course

I am again pleased to show my support for the launch of The National Cyber Awareness Course which following the successful launch of The National MBA in Cyber Security last year is welcome in increasing our cyber knowledge in this digital age.”

The National Cyber Skills Centre based at the Malvern Hills Science Park, the University of Gloucestershire and Keele University are pleased to announce the launch in September 2015 of The National Cyber Awareness Course. This has been designed to provide an increased awareness of the risks and benefits of the Cyber World for all employees, students and members of the public. The official launch will take place at The House of Commons on the 7th September 2015.

The course requires no previous knowledge and is designed to deal with everyday issues of technology risk at work, home or on the move. Its aim is to make attendees more aware of the consequences and personal responsibilities that using the Internet brings, and is presented in a relaxed and interactive style to reinforce learning. Of note is the focus of the course on real-life examples and the safe use of Social Media.

The course will be run nationally, with certificates issued through two Universities; The University of Gloucestershire and Keele. They will ensure that the quality of the course is maintained and recognised. Within the UK, after the launch, the course will be submitted for CESG accreditation.

The course fee is likely to be up to a maximum of £295 per person depending on location. The content can be personalised for larger organisations or those that have a particular requirements or significant numbers of staff.
