Keele is one of the largest and most attractive campuses in the UK, whilst still maintaining the spirit of a friendly and close-knit community. Keele is placed 6th in The telegraph's 'Britain's most beautiful universities' list. Students live in campus accommodation but many members of the staff live on the campus as well. This means that by choosing Keele, you join a unique community in which students and staff live, work, study and often socialise together.
Your university accommodation and teaching rooms are all situated within our beautiful green campus surrounded by woods, fields and man-made lakes. Campus facilities include:
- University Library
- Sports Centre
- a range of restaurants, cafés, bars and shops
- Students’ Union and Keele Postgraduate Association
- inter-denominational chapel and prayer room
- frequent bus service linking Keele to nearby towns and cities
- Wi-Fi in most public areas
- Keele Hall grounds and woodland walking areas
Newcastle-under-Lyme (10 minute bus ride from campus) is a small town with three supermarkets, a range of speciality shops including ethnic food stores, a multi-screen cinema, a regional theatre, restaurants, parks and a sports centre with a swimming pool. Hanley (20-minute bus ride from campus) has an indoor shopping mall and a wide range of restaurants and entertainment.
There is also all of Staffordshire and its neighbouring counties, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Shropshire, to explore. These are widely considered to be areas of great natural beauty, with lovely historic houses and buildings to visit and some of Britain’s most delightful countryside.
Travelling to and from Keele is easy. Both Manchester and Birmingham International Airports are within an hour’s drive. London is approximately 90 minutes away by train, and a bus service links Keele campus to nearby towns.
