I have experience of working in both hospital and community pharmacy but, since 1999, I have worked predominately as practice pharmacist and from 2005 to the present day as a Prescribing Adviser for a Clinical Commissioning Group. I maintain my prescribing competencies and understanding of the issues that face general practice by continuing to work as a practice pharmacist.

I am interested in the current and future roles of pharmacists who work closely with general practitioners in primary care and how they integrate into general practice teams. I am currently studying for a DPharm focusing on the value of the practice pharmacist role and how the role has changed since the NHS reforms of 2013.

I have worked for Keele School of Pharmacy, on a casual basis, as a Tutor on the Prescribing Studies and Independent Prescribing course since 2004.

I work for Keele University on Wednesdays and Thursdays only
