The Institute for Science & Technology in Medicine is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Abbie Rutter as a new Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering. Dr Rutter's work focuses on Diagnostic Engineering and Healthcare Technologies, in particular the use of SIFT-MS for the identification of volatile compounds in breath and other body gases that may be early markers of disease. Dr Rutter completed her PhD at Keele in the area of Bioengineering and Cancer Studies, and has spent the last three years as a post-doctoral research associate working on the detection of biomarkers for lung cancer. We are delighted to welcome her to the Institute as a Lecturer and are excited about the contributions she will make to the development of our research and teaching programmes.
