Academic General Practice

The Primary Care Research Trust of Birmingham and Midlands Research Practices Consortium (PCRT) are supporting the development of an Academic General Practice in Staffordshire. The establishment of an Academic General Practice (AGP), directed by Professor Christian Mallen at Keele University, is an opportunity to build capacity in both general practice and clinical academia locally, using an exemplar 'beacon' practice to be active in primary care research and to implement, pilot and evaluate innovative and collaborative models of care.

Wolstanton Medical Centre was awarded the Keele University AGP status in July 2017, given its long and ongoing history of academic general practice.

Our aims and objectives
