Interventions CD Release featuring Rajmil Fischman

Interventions, a ‘free improvisation’ CD for an ensemble of acoustic instruments and electronics has been released by ZawpRecords; featuring Professor Rajmil Fischman, who was one of three international guests invited to join a group of professional Spanish musicians to record the CD. Fischman performed using the Manual Actions Expressive System (MAES) and digital glove. Members of the ensemble include a flautist, three saxophonists, a trumpet player, a violinist, a cellist, a double bass player, a pianist, a drummer and two additional electronic musicians. Fischman’s participation was part of a wider invitation as one of the principal guests at the festival La Escucha Errante, Bilbao, last December. This included a performance of his work La Jaula Invisible (The Invisible Cage), for saxophone and Manual Actions Expressive System, a paper and Round Table on Contemporary Noise. Beyond the border of the Inaudible together with Mexican musicologist Rubén López Cano, and a presentation to students on The creation of La Jaula Invisible at the National University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU Faculty of Fine Arts.
