Dr Nicholas Reyland has been awarded an Arts and Humanities Research Council Early Career 'Leadership' Fellowship to support his work on Witold Lutoslawski, Poland's finest twentieth-century composer.

From January 2015, Dr Reyland will lead an international team of musicologists, composers and historians in an investigation of the nexus of relationships between Lutoslawski's life, cultural contexts and music.
Dr Reyland is already well known internationally for his expertise in Lutoslawski – he has recently appeared on BBC Radio 3, and at the Proms, the Royal Festival Hall and the Chopin Institute in Warsaw, to discuss Lutoslawski. The 'Lutoslawski's Worlds' project will include screenings, performances, public discussions and a symposium here at Keele, and lead to a major new essay collection.
