Research Themes in ISTM

The Institute for Science & Technology in Medicine bridges the interface between new advances in basic science and technology with medicine and clinical practice.  It successfully integrates Keele University's biomedical research strengths across the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences.

ISTM brings together biological scientists, physicists, chemists, engineers, mathematicians and clinicians in a single unit, under three scientific themes:

Many members work in collaboration with colleagues in the Research Institutes for Applied Clinical Sciences (IACS) and Primary Care & Health Sciences (PCHS)

Partners in clinical and biomedical research

ISTM brings together researchers from Keele University campus and partner hospitals in North Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire:

We have active collaborations and training programmes with universities throughout the UK, Europe, USA and the developing world.
