Arrival 

When should I arrive?

It is recommended to arrive approximately 2 hours prior to the start of the ceremony.

Where shall I park?

When arriving on campus, parking attendants will be on hand to help you park. There are no parking charges on campus during graduation ceremonies.

What if I’m late?

If you are running late for your ceremony, please call the Graduation Team on 01782 734206 to make them aware, or if you have already arrived on campus, you must make yourself known to the Graduation Welcome Team situated outside the Chapel and you will be advised accordingly. You must arrive at the Chapel in your academic attire 45 minutes prior to your ceremony time, otherwise there may be a chance you will not be able to attend the ceremony.

Collect tickets

Once you have arrived on campus, make your way to the Walter Moberly Building. The ticket desk, situated in the main foyer, opens at 08:00 on the day of your graduation ceremony. Please ensure you have your confirmation email to hand and proof of ID

If you are a wheelchair user, enter via Walter Moberly (Entrance B) instead and a Student Ambassador will be available to collect your tickets for you.  

Please note, only graduands will be allowed entry to collect tickets and gowns. Your guests will need to wait for you in the holding/queuing area outside Walter Moberly (Entrance B) before having photographs taken on the ground floor of Walter Moberly.

Collect gown

Once you have collected your tickets in Walter Moberly foyer, head upstairs and follow the directions to collect your gown. Please ensure you have your tickets and gown confirmation email ready to present to a staff member. 

If you are a wheelchair user, once you have collected your tickets at Walter Moberly (Entrance B), your gown will be brought to you by a member of Ede and Ravenscroft staff, and they will assist accordingly in a nearby room.

Official photography 

Once you have collected your tickets and gown, it is recommended that you have your official photographs taken prior to your ceremony

Tempest Photography will be available to take portrait and family group photographs on the ground floor, Walter Moberly.  

Whilst you collect your tickets and gown, your guests should wait in the holding/queuing marquee outside Walter Moberly (Entrance B). After getting gowned, you will follow the one-way system downstairs and join your family in the queue.

  • There is no need to pre-book a slot for your official photographs. Photography will be open from 08:00 to 18:00.
  • A ‘proof-on-the-day’ service, which means you do not need to pre-order anything, and will receive instant ‘proofs’ to take away and with no obligation to buy.
  • Order your official photographs after the event by telephone or online.

Head over to the Chapel


Please make sure that you head over to the Chapel 45 minutes before your ceremony time. Your guests should be at the Chapel 30 minutes prior to your ceremony start time.

Cloakroom

Cloakroom facilities will be available in the Students' Union. Please note, you will not be able to bring bags or any additional items into the Chapel.

Lost property

Should you lose an item during your graduation ceremony within the Chapel, please go to the Graduation Office. If after graduation, lost items will be held at the Sports Centre and kept for a maximum of 3 months.
