Restoke are an arts organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent. They work with people from all walks of life to co-create performances addressing social issues and reimagining community venues. Their latest performance – Man UP! – involved 21 men who came together over 12 months to explore mental health and masculinity through conversation and creativity. We will be begin with an overview of ReStoke and ManUP from their Creative Director – Clare Reynolds. Keele academics will then provide an outline of potential theoretical models which may be active as part of the ManUP programme. We aim to encourage audience members to critically reflect during a detailed talk from Clare Reynolds and some of the participants of ManUP (UpMEN). Audience members will then be able to engage in a discussion between Keele Academics, Clare Reynolds, and the UpMEN.
