The Smart Energy Network Demonstrator (SEND) project

The traditional approach to energy supply where gas is used mainly for heat; electricity for light and power; and petroleum for transport will not deliver the changes need to maintain lifestyles while reducing carbon output. To address these issues Keele’s campus, which is in effect a small town, is being converted to provide a real life demonstrator of how new approaches to energy supply and use can be researched.

Tonight’s talk by Dr Ian Madley will look at the developments underway on the campus and look to the exciting research opportunities this will enable.

Tickets: £5 for Members; £10 for Guests. Light refreshments provided.
