“Bite avoidance is the best medicine, so think long trousers, long sleeves, repellent and a bed net,” says Tripet.

Drs Frederic Tripet and Catherine Merrick, both malaria researchers in CAEP, were quoted in an article on malaria in The Sunday Times Travel Section (June 3rd 2012).

The article, by journalist Chris Haslam, was entitled Super-mossies set to cause malaria 'surge'.  It can be found in the online edition of the Sunday Times.  The Keele scientists were interviewed about the spread of insecticide-resistant mosquitoes and the importance of using appropriate prophylactic drugs when holidaying in malaria-endemic regions.
