The Centre for Applied Entomology and Parasitology is proud to host Keele's first Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Fellow for 2015-16.

This prestigious fellowship, aimed specifically at promoting women in STEM subjects in developing countries, was awarded to Ms. Nwamaka Akpodiete from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, based on her academic excellence.  She will join Frederic Tripet's laboratory and will work with other researchers from countries endemic for vector-borne diseases who carry out research on the behavioural ecology and genetics of the malaria mosquito Anopheles gambiae.  This work aims to design new tools for reducing malaria transmission.
