PhD student Linda Anagu to compete in 'I'm a Scientist, Get Me Out Of Here!'

Linda Anagu, who is studying for her PhD with Dr Merrick in the Centre for Applied Entomology & Parasitology, will compete in the online science communication game in June.

I'm a Scientist, Get me out of here is an online outreach competition in which scientists talk about their work with curious school students all over the UK at imascientist.org.uk. The Parasites Zone in the next event will be active 13th–24th June.

Being part of I'm a Scientist is a novel and exciting way for scientists to develop communication skills, gain a fresh perspective on their research, and find out what young people think about science and the role of scientists, all while raising students' awareness of careers in science.  Participating scientists answer online questions from students alongside fellow researchers and engage directly with classes in live, text-based chats. Students then vote for their favourite scientist, who wins £500 to fund more outreach activities.  CAEP wishes Linda good luck in the Parasite Zone!
