CAEP director visits CRID, Yaoundé, Cameroon
On the back of attending the Pan African Mosquito Control Association (PAMCA) 6th Annual Conference, Professor Frederic Tripet visited the Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID) in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Accompanying him was Professor Abdoulaye Diabate, head of the vector control unit at long-standing CAEP collaborating institution, the Institute of Research in Health Sciences (IRSS), in Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso.
Among the various aims of CRID is the promotion of high-quality research into infectious diseases in Cameroon and the training of future generations of Cameroonian and African scientists. The centre offers state-of-the-art technical facilities for teams researching into various projects such as insecticide resistance in Anopheles funestus and assessing the risks of dengue, zika and chikungunya epidemics.
