Research, Development and Innovation programme

Research, Development and Innovation is at the core of SEND. Led by Professor Zhong Fan, Academic Director of SEND, a variety of industry-led projects have been developed with the focus of reducing carbon emissions.

The RD&I programme enables researchers to work with a Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire small-to-medium-sized enterprise (SME) on a range of RD&I projects linked to the smart energy agenda.

There are two RD&I programmes that are currently available:

Businesses can collaborate and develop a three-month research project with Keele University academic staff. The business can then receive research and development support through the placement of a researcher within the company.

SEND is currently looking to secure the 25 three-month projects with ambitious Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire SMEs who are looking to research and develop products and solutions that can contribute to the UK Renewable Energy Road Map

If you are a Stoke-on-Trent or Staffordshire-based SME who is interested in discussing this opportunity, then please contact Julian Read, SEND Business Engagement Manager, on julian.read@keele.ac.uk.
