Student Eats

Posted on 08 April 2013

Student Eats is a Project led by the NUS, supporting universities and colleges across the UK in cultivating their own student-led growing sites for fruit and vegetables.

Raised beds here at Keele University provides a great opportunity for students to grow, eat and share food which is organic, nutritious, fresh, local, low-carbon and, most importantly of, delicious!

After waiting for a  new bed to be built at the Walled Garden, planting had to be postponed because of the snow and frost in March. This hasn't deterred the group, who plan to plant as soon as possible.

At a recent meeting, a four year crop rotation and a sowing calendar was finalised.

The next meeting will be held on Friday April 12th at 2pm in KeeleSU.
