Community Nature Day a Hit!

Posted on 31 August 2013

Keele University's Sustainability Hub partnered with the Green Door Project to host a day of activities. The Green Door Project is a lottery-funded initiative which aims to encourage people, particularly older and disabled people, to make more use of the green spaces in the city, improve their physical and mental well-being and reducing problems of isolation. In spite of the weather troops of attendees arrived, raingear in hand, in order to go on bug hunts, practice traditional nature crafts like willow weaving, and learn about bee-keeping. The rain cleared just in time for some afternoon den building, fire lighting and exploring woodland trails, hosted by a local ranger.
