Low Carbon Energy Generation Park

Visit Keele Low Carbon Energy Generation Park.

Part of Imagine Bamboo at Keele.

Join Ash and Matt on a tour of the Low Carbon Energy Generation Park at Keele. The tour normally takes around 30-45 minutes. See a solar farm and wind turbine up-close! You will find out more about wind/solar/battery technologies, issues faced with planning and the National Grid, as well as the Biogain biodiversity project taking place at the site. Ash and Matt are part of the SEND project at Keele University. Working in partnership with Siemens, the SEND project is creating an ‘at scale’ environment that allows energy generation, distribution, storage, forecasting and balancing to be intelligently carried out across different energy sources using the Keele University campus as a genuine ‘living laboratory.’

It is important that people wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the outdoors, it can get quite cold on the energy park.

Meeting at the Bamboo Arch Swing at 2pm for a walk up to the energy park (20 minutes). The tour will commence around 2:30pm and last for between 30-45 minutes.
