RefWorks - Help with setting up your account

When you connect to Refworks for the first time, you will need to set up an account on the service.

Please follow the advice below to create your account.

On the Library Refworks page, follow the link "Connect to Refworks here". At the following screen (see below), type in your Keele username and password and click Login.

If you don't have your Keele login details to hand, these can be obtained from the IT Services Help Desk.

At the following screen (see below), ENTER YOUR KEELE EMAIL ADDRESS AND YOUR KEELE IT USERNAME (WHICH REFWORKS CALLS "LOGIN NAME") AND YOUR PASSWORD. The click NEXT:

At the following screen, enter your full name. Then select one of the options under "Type of user" (student, academic etc) and "Area of focus". To complete account creation, type in the security code displayed, and click "Create Account".

If you've followed the instructions carefully, you should be presented with a newly-created Refworks acccount, which will be empty of references, but will be clearly displaying your name at the top right of the page.

You will receive a confirmation email. This contains links to Refworks help and tutorials.
