PhilSoc
Keele Philosophy Society (PhilSoc) is a student run society which holds fortnightly debates on a wide range of philosophical topics, often related to current events or elements of popular culture. We aim to provide a comfortable and informal environment where members new and old can come together and share their ideas as well as develop strong, consistent arguments for their points of view.
Popular recent debates we have hosted include; 'Freedom or Happiness?'; 'Where is my mind?'; 'The ethics of population control'; 'Immortality: Blessing or Curse?' and 'Conspiracy Theories: How can we justify radical beliefs?'
At each debate we provide a variety of snacks and soft drinks for attendees, as well as the always popular free wine. Over the past year we have also organized film screenings and various social meets, including coffee mornings and bar crawls.
If you have any questions or would just like some more information feel free to contact our President, Christopher Murphy (v6d67@students.keele.ac.uk). Or just join our Facebook group Keele Philosophy Society
PHILSOC IS MEETING THIS YEAR (2012/13) ON WEDNESDAYS AT 18:00 IN CBA 1.023.
