I was formerly a Lecturer in Sociology in the School of Social and International Studies at the University of Bradford. I have a first degree, two Master's and a PhD from the University of Leeds, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice from Bradford.
A book based on my PhD thesis, Inhabiting Borders: A Study of 16-25 Year Old Refugee Women's Narratives of Home, has just been published by Ashgate (Inhabiting Borders, Routes Home: Youth, Gender, Asylum) and reflects my research interests in migration, identities, cities and personal relationships, all of which fit very comfortably with those of a number of colleagues across the School. I have extensive teaching experience at both Leeds and Bradford (including undergraduate modules on social divisions and research methods and gender and migration at Master's level).
