If we don't have access to the information that you need we can arrange to borrow it from another library - this is an inter-library loan (ILL).

Book Inter-Library Loan

You can request a book ILL by completing the form provided below and delivering it:

  • In person
  • By post
  • By fax
  • Online

There are loan request and renewal charges for this service:

  • NHS Users - £2 per loan request; £2 per renewal if the item is from the British Library
  • Retired NHS staff or Non NHS staff working with the NHS  -£ 10 per loan request from the British Library, £2 per loan request from other libraries; £4 per renewal if the item is from the British Library
  • Keele Users - £10 per loan request from the British Library, £2 per loan request if available from another NHS library in the Region; £4 per renewal if the item is from the British Library.

All forms must be signed and requests paid for before the item can be collected.

Journal Article Inter-Library Loan

If you cannot get access to a particular journal article we can arrange to get you a copy from another library. You can request an article by completing the form provided below and delivering it:

  • In person
  • By post
  • By fax
  • Online

There is a charge for each request:

  • NHS Users - £2 per item
  • Retired NHS staff or Non NHS staff working with the NHS  - £2 per item, £6 if only available from the British Library
  • Keele Users - £2 per item if available from another NHS library in the Region, £6 if only available from the British Library

All forms must be signed and requests paid for before the item can be collected.

Please note uncollected items will be destroyed 6 weeks after notification that they are available for collection is first sent, but may still be charged for.
