Principal Subject/s: Management
Academic Year: 2015/16
Level of Study: Level 4

You need to choose elective modules to the value of 30 credits.

You can choose these credits from either type of elective module, programme approved and/or free standing, the choice is yours.

To obtain your single honours degree you must take and pass a minimum of 255 subject-related credits (17 modules) in that subject over your three-year degree. Subject-related credits are made up from the compulsory core modules, option core modules and any programme approved electives you take.

Take some time to read through the module summaries and decide which modules are of interest to you. You will see that for some modules there is information given under 'pre-requisites' or 'barred combinations' boxes which state who can or cannot take that module, so please ensure you have a look through these before deciding upon your choice of modules.

If you are planning to study abroad for a semester in your second year we recommend that you take the elective module ENL-10043 Intercultural Communication.

Each module is worth 15 credits unless otherwise stated and each module description also gives a contact in the school teaching that module. If you wish to ask any questions about the topics covered in that module prior to selecting it, please feel free to contact them by e-mail.

Your programme approved elective modules are:

Programme Approved electives are subject-related modules and the credits you achieve from these will count towards the minimum number of subject-related credits you need by the end of your degree.

International students whose first language is not English or who have been educated in a language other than English will be pre-allocated an English language module (ENL-) as one of their elective module choices. You must not change your ENL- module when you register your electives choices online.

On arrival at Keele, part of the Induction Week will include an introduction to the English Language Unit and a brief language assessment to help us know if academic language support would be helpful, right from the start. Based on the results and in consultation with English Language Unit staff, your ENL- elective enrolment may be confirmed, you may be allocated a different English Language module or you may be advised that you can replace it with another elective module of your choice.
