Recognition and Education in Violence, Abuse and Neglect for Medical and Healthcare Practitioners

REVAMP

REVAMP is an innovative, trans-European project. Connecting colleagues and researchers across Europe, REVAMP combines their knowledge and skills to tackle an under-resourced and underdeveloped area of education on the subject of domestic violence and abuse (DVA).

REVAMP logo The REVAMP project was launched in September 2019 and was funded by the British Council and Ecorys, part of the European Union’s Erasmus + programme, KA203 Grant Agreement Number: 2019-1-UK01-KA203-061608.

The REVAMP project is led by Professor June Keeling, School of Nursing and Midwifery, Keele University, with partners in Iceland, Norway, Greece, Lithuania, Germany, and France. The aim of the project was to engage medical and healthcare practitioners to develop their knowledge and skills to recognise and respond to patients who are experiencing DVA. The REVAMP training is delivered through a series of interactive online modules with a series of formative and summative assessments.

The project is designing a new approach for the future of medical and healthcare education delivery across Europe and seeks to train professionals to help support survivors of DVA.

A number of resources have been developed in collaboration with the REVAMP partner countries. One specific resource identifies national support agencies for survivors of DVA in each partner country to enable rapid access to them (see Resources page of  the website).

If you would like further information about the project please email the project lead, Professor June Keeling, j.keeling@keele.ac.uk.
