Biography

Russell is the Head of the Language Centre and a Senior Lecturer in English Language.

His research interests centre on developing the intertextuality skills EAP students require for success in their studies and he has delivered papers on this area at conferences in the UK, Thailand and Japan. He joined Keele University in 2002. Prior to this, he worked for 14 years as an English language lecturer in Thailand, Singapore, Greece and Australia.

He has an MPhil in Applied Linguistics, an MA in Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching, the Trinity College London Diploma in TESOL (Distinction), a PGCE in English Language Teaching, the Trinity College (London) Certificate in TESOL and a BA (Hons) in Sociology and Linguistics.
