Frequently asked questions

Transport will be via taxi - please request your free airport transfer using this form. Registrations must be received at least 48 hours prior to your arrival in the UK.

For students starting their programme in January 2022, the airport transfer service will run from 8 January 2022 until 13 February 2022. Requests outside this time will not be considered.

Click here to access the booking form.

For the avoidance of doubt, starting a programme includes any study online.

The taxi will take you to your off-campus accommodation, but this must be within a 10-mile radius of the University campus.  The off-campus address must be provided in full on the airport transfer registration form.

Yes.

For example, if you have completed an Undergraduate Degree and now returning the University for a Masters, then you are considered as starting a new course at the University as you had to apply for this and meet the conditions of your offer.

Students who are transferring, or changing course are not considered a new student. Continuing students will be able to receive some parts of the support package.

Yes. However, any tuition fee refund would not be given to you as there is no cash alternative.

A financial sponsor is considered a Government, National Organisation (such as an NGO) or a university. NHS trusts and Student Finance England are not considered financial sponsors by the UK Home Office (UKVI).

Whilst friends and family may support you with your studies, they are not considered an ‘official financial sponsor’.

Yes.

If you pay your tuition fees in full prior to joining us, then all you will need to do is to provide your quarantine hotel receipt and we will refund you. This will take place within the first semester, with more details provided when you arrive. For the avoidance of doubt, this refund would be due to an overpayment of your tuition fees, which would have to be returned to the source account. This is not a cash alternative.

If you pay your tuition fees in instalments, we will take the cost of the quarantine package off your second instalment. This will take place within the first semester, with more details provided when you arrive.

If you are quarantining with anyone else, a partner, child (dependant) or parent the package does not cover their costs. For the avoidance of doubt, only one reimbursement is permitted for the student only.

Yes, we will cover the full new cost of the quarantine hotel (£2,285).

More information can be found on the Welcome web pages or by contacting Student Services at student.services@keele.ac.uk.

The catering package will contain a welcome pack when you arrive on campus and a daily meal pack containing lunch, dinner and the following mornings breakfast. The meal packs will be delivered to your on-campus accommodation. The package will start on the day of your arrival, there will be a choice of dishes and you will receive 10 packs.

You will receive an electronic form with the menu choices to complete. If you have any allergies or special dietary requirements, such as Vegetarian, there is a section on the form for you to enter the details.

Example welcome pack: 1 litre orange juice, 2litre still water, tea and coffee, 1 litre UHT semi-skimmed milk, chocolate bar, cereal/porridge oats pot and fresh fruit.

Example daily pack: Lunch a microwavable Curry and rice and a prepacked cake and a bottle of water, dinner pre-packed Cheese sandwich, packet of crisps, banana, can of Pepsi, breakfast pain au chocolate, porridge pot and a piece of fruit.

If we do not receive your menu choices and dietary requirements, we will not be able to provide you with food on arrival.

The Post Room will deliver any items directly to your halls and staff from the halls teams will leave post outside the front door of your block/flat. Students will be made aware in advance of any deliveries.

If you have accepted your Keele campus accommodation offer you will have the 10 days’ free accommodation for quarantine in University Halls of Residence, including food package.

However, you are not eligible for the Welcome Pack including bedding, kitchen utensils, adapter, thermometer. You are able to arrange a bedding pack along with a number of other essential through the University's supplier Chaffinch Student.

If you are a new EU student who is paying the ‘Overseas’ tuition fee rate then you are able to benefit from the support package. However, if you pay the ‘Home’ tuition fee rate, where your fees can be paid for by Student Finance England then, unfortunately, you are not and you will have to make arrangements to meet the UK Government quarantine requirements, yourself.

You may be able to move into your University accommodation earlier but you will be charged for this.

Please refer to the International Student Support Package eligibility criteria document for more information.

Students that are in quarantine at Keele are entitled to one laundry collection as part of the International Student Support Package at Keele.
