Advancing Social Sciences

This module aims to take the Social Sciences out of the classroom and into the real world to investigate the impacts of industrialisation, de-industrialisation and gentrification on Stoke-on-Trent. Where possible, visiting major areas of ‘The Potteries’ industry, past and present, so you can situate onsite experiences within historical, economic, social and cultural frameworks. We hope to give you first-hand experience of being a social scientist, exploring the impact of circumstances on local communities.
