For Dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs)

Study skills and support

You may suspect that you’re dyslexic for a number of reasons, such as struggling with the amount of reading expected on your course, feeling unable to organise your time, or having difficulties preparing and writing your assignments.

There is support available from our Student Learning Team for any academic related difficulties you may be experiencing.  They can provide support with any academic issue and will help you explore a wealth of online materials that can help to improve your skills such as: note-taking, exam revision, presentation skills and much more.

If you access this support but continue to have difficulties, you might suspect that you have a Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD) such as dyslexia and may wish to be assessed.  If would like to arrange for an assessment, please contact support.dsi@keele.ac.uk

We will then provide you with details of how to book a diagnostic assessment with an approved Educational Psychologist.

Please be aware that any diagnosis made from your assessment will support any application you may make for DSA (to fund the cost of the extra support you qualify for), however, it is not a clinical diagnosis that would qualify you for prescribed medication.
