International Action Research Conference in Denmark

Posted on 11 December 2014
The International Action Research Conference was attended by Lecturer in Adult Nursing and PhD Student Jane Jervis at Roskilde University, Denmark.

The two-day conference, organised by the Center for Action Research and Democratic Societal Change, brought together 47 action researchers from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Greenland, Faroe Islands, UK and Israel. The overall theme was 'Action for Democracy', questioning how we should understand democratic societal change in the present historical situation and examining the challenges, obligations and possibilities of Action Research in this arena.

The development of the 'commons' as a possible horizon for democratic action research was the most widely discussed, as was how action researchers from the UK and Scandinavia could maintain a close working relationship.
