Aims and strategy

Aims

To generate high quality evidence based on strong applied prognosis research, evidence synthesis and methodological innovation in order to support patients’ and clinicians’ decision-making, improve patient outcomes, and increase efficiency of health care.

Strategy

In order to achieve these aims the Centre focuses on three areas of activity:

  1. design, conduct, and support applied clinical prognosis studies and evidence synthesis, driven by strong collaborative research teams of clinicians and methodologists: Applied Prognosis Research
  2. conduct cutting-edge methodological research, particularly novel statistical methods for the design, analysis and synthesis of prognosis studies, analysis of individual participant data (IPD), and use of electronic health records in research 
  3. develop and deliver training and capacity building in methods of prognosis research and evidence synthesis [ courses]
