Biography

I am a graduate of the Keele School of Pharmacy and Bioengineering so am very proud to now work here as a member of staff. I am a registered pharmacist with experience in both community and hospital pharmacy. I primarily teach pharmacy undergraduates as well as a range of postgraduate professionals. My research and scholarship interests are focused on the education of health professionals, both under- and postgraduate. I am particularly interested in clinical decision-making and consultation skills as well as virtual patient simulations and interprofessional education.

Research and scholarship

My research and scholarship interests include developing the consultation and clinical decision-making skills of both under- and postgraduate health professionals. A related interest is shared decision-making and how we teach this complex skill to professionals. I also have an interest in simulation and it's application to education, particularly virtual patient simulations.

Teaching

My teaching interests are focused on both ethical and clinical decision-making, consultation skills, evidence-based medicine and interprofessional education. I primarily teach undergraduate pharmacy students but am also involved in teaching postgraduate professionals from a range of disciplines.
