Biography

I completed my pharmacy degree at Keele University in 2012. I went on to complete my pre-registration training at Leighton Hospital before returning to Keele University in 2013 to undertake a PhD. I joined the School of Pharmacy at Keele University in 2016 as a Lecturer in Clinical and Professional Practice. I work within the Pharmacy Practice Team and teach on a range of clinical and pharmacy practice areas. I have experience working in both hospital and community pharmacy and currently work as a locum pharmacist. I completed my PhD at Keele University in 2018 which evaluated the use of interactive avatars in pharmacist pre-registration training.

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I am also a reviewer and mentor within the Keele Institute for Innovation and Teaching Excellence. I sit on the board of the Faculty Health Professional Education Research Theme and am a member of the School of Pharmacy and Bioengineering EDI Athena Swan Committee.

I am a co-developer of the NICE Shared Decision Making Learning Package.

I am currently working with NICE and the Personalised Care Institute to train healthcare professionals in Shared Decision Making.

Research and scholarship

My research and scholarship interests lie within the areas of pharmacist and patient education, technology and innovation. I am also interested in consultation skills, in particular shared decision-making and how we teach this to undergraduate and postgraduate professionals.

Teaching

Law Ethics and Practice Clinical Therapeutics Responding to Symptoms Competency-based assessments I primarily teach undergraduate pharmacy students but I am also involved in the postgraduate pharmacy MSc. I currently supervise DPharm and PhD students.
