Biography

Graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiology from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1997. In 1999 appointed as an associate lecturer in the School of Physiology, University of the Witwatersrand. Promoted to lecturer 2002 and was awarded PhD in 2007,Thesis Title: “The measurement and quality of human whole-body centre of mass location data”. Senior Lecturer 2012 - 2016. Appointed to the position of Associate Professor in 2016 until 2022, followed by a move to Keele University.

Over the last 20 years Warrick have facilitated learning and lectured didactically to both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, having engaged with classes of 400 undergraduate medical students as well as smaller groups (5 - 30) of postgraduates. Experience of teaching modalities includes traditional didactic teaching of mechanisms (large classes), small group facilitation of clinical learning, as well as the flipped classroom and blended learning approached to intermediate class sides of approximately 100 students.

Warrick led a research laboratory between 2015 -2022 and has published over 40 peer review publications. Supervised graduates include 5 PhD students, several masters students and dozens of honours projects (many of which have been published).

Warrick is currently working with the undergraduate medical science and paramedic team to develop and deliver courses to medical and paramedic students.
