Biography

Sally has considerable experience as a facilitator of counsellors, both for initial trainings and CPD. She joined Keele in 2011 and occasionally also works at The Metanoia Institute and The Minster Centre across the MSc research modules. Sally's main counselling experience has been working as a counsellor in a university where she worked for nearly 20 years and also as a counsellor and supervisor for young people's counselling services. Previous experience included setting up a service for the Catholic Diocese of Westminster to support those affected by abuse and working with the probation service. She still has a small private practice offering therapy, supervision and consultation. Sally is particularly interested in Post-structuralist, New Materialist/Performative/Arts-Based and Participatory research methods, considering us as the animal we are and noting our creaturely and sensuous self, our relationship with the natural and built environments. This remains an ever evolving interest with links to ecopsychology and multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary conversations about humans and more-than-human. She lives at Keele accompanied by two Boxer dogs, Daisy and Lukas, from whom she learns much.
