Biography

I am a lecturer in accounting at Keele Business School. I moved to Keele in 2014 after teaching at Durham University. I completed my PhD at Manchester University on the subject of “Dividend Displacement and Information Content Effects of Corporate Distributions in the UK” in 2012. My main research area concerns the relationship between corporate  distributions and market value in the UK.  I have presented working papers at both national and international conferences.

Research and scholarship

My main research area concerns the pattern of company payout policy (dividends, share buybacks), and the relationship between company payout policy and market value in the UK.

Topics that I am interested in supervising for PhDs are;

  • Determinants of company payout policy
  • Corporate governance and payout policy

Teaching

I am currently teaching a wide variety of accounting based subjects at Keele Business School. I mainly teach management accounting courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I also tutor undergraduate students.
