Biography
I joined Keele Business School from Leeds University Business School following completion of my PhD at Manchester University (Management, UMIST), where I also undertook post doctoral research, and taught subsequently. My research interests and publications are in the sociology and critical studies in management, work and organisation; empirical research on management and management practices; and gender and diversity in organisations. Formerly joint Editor in Chief of the journal Gender, Work and Organization (Wiley, USA) 2000-2019, I instigated at Keele (2001-2016) the Biennial International Interdisciplinary Conference of the journal, attracting approximately 400 international scholars in the field. My current focus centres on gender and entrepreneurship, and enterprise and business start-up.
